Salarias ramosus commonly known as the Starry blenny, is a medium-sized blenny. Their base colour is very dark red, almost black with hundreds of small white spots, making it look like a starry sky at night. They also have white around the mouth, the pectoral fin bases and some small saddle/band like white patches on their body, as well as white antlers.
These fish usually live solitary or in small groups on on shallow reefs and even brackish estuaries. They can best be kept alone or as a mated pair unless a huge tank with ample hiding spots can be provided. They feed mainly on algae and can best be fed with high quality algae flakes and pellets even if there is algae in the tank
