KH Buffer 5000g – Aquaforest
Description
An agent to maintain a constant carbonate hardness level in reef aquariums. A precise level of carbonate hardness is essential for stabilizing pH levels. A sudden drop in carbonate concentration in the tank can completely halt the nitrification process. The recommended KH level in reef aquariums is 6.5-8.5 dKH.
Dosage
The dosage should be determined based on water test results and the daily consumption of corals.
Before applying the KH buffer solution to the water, it is recommended to conduct a water test to check the current water parameters.
The maximum daily dose is 20 ml per 100 liters of water. 20 ml of KH buffer solution raises the KH level in 100 liters of water by 0.5 dKH.
The product is also suitable for occasional use to increase the KH level. 10 g of KH buffer in 100 liters of water raises the KH level by approximately 3.3 dKH (Alk. 1.18 meg/l).
We do not recommend increasing the KH level by more than 0.5 dKH per day.
To maintain ionic balance, Calcium, Magnesium, and Reef Mineral Salt should also be applied.
Contains NaHCO3.
Recommendations
Keep out of reach of children.
Product for aquarium use only.
Not suitable for human consumption.
FAQ
Can KH Plus be used as a substitute for KH buffer to mix component 2+?
Of course, you should always remember to add Components Strong as KH Plus does not contain trace elements.
Can I dilute your calcium, KH buffer, and magnesium with less water to get a stronger solution? If so, what is the limit? The reason is that my tank does not evaporate much, and if I use the recommended dose, I will add a lot of water to my tank.
Yes, it is possible to make stronger solutions of calcium and magnesium. To keep it safe, we recommend preparing doses at a maximum of 2 or 3 times stronger. A higher concentration solution may clog the pump. The KH buffer is a saturated solution, so you cannot achieve a higher concentration.
